MacDermott Web Info

This site was designed to provide an easy way to communicate with other members of the MacDermott family.  Through this site, it should be possible to find out information, or at least contact details about members of the family.  This is however only possible if people contribute to the site.

Ways of contributing are providing information, email addresses, homepage URLs, or anything else that might seem appropriate.  These can all be sent to the webmaster who will then add them to the site.  Alternatively there is an Information page on which messages can be posted on a message board to allow people to communicate with everyone.

If you are a family member who would like an email address such as you@macdermott.net then simply send details of your current address to the webmaster.  The way that this system would work is that you can have the email address @macdermott.net which will work just as any other address.  This means that you can give it to friends and family and your email address will never change no matter whether you move house, change ISP or leave the country.  All that will happen is that your mail will be forwarded to whichever email address you provided.  This means that you still need to have a proper ISP account with a mail system but you need not give that address (sometimes cryptic like 10526,854@compuserve.com) to anyone else.  Instead you hand out the address @macdermott.net which will be a lot easier to remember for both parties, and receive the email at your normal address.

Another option is if you want your personal site linked to from the Macdermott Family main web site.  This means that anyone searching for a MacDermott can find your page and visit it.  If you do not have any space on which to create a web site, I can offer a limited amount of space to you as a temporary solution.  Otherwise there are many web presence providers out there such as TechDroid and GeoCities.

This site has been registered on the majority of popular search engines such as Yahoo!, Lycos, HotBot, etc. so that anyone searching for the name MacDermott will come across this site.
