The weekend just gone hosted Mike's 50th birthday party in his house in Founex. The whole birthday party was a complete surprise (well, as complete as we could make it) and perfectly organised by Thelma (who's probably taking a well deserved rest now)! We were very happy to see many of the family and old friends make it over for the event which culminated with an over 50 strong attendance at Mike's new house. Finally got around to adding a message board facility back onto the website. Of course there's not much going on there at the moment, but jump on and drop a message off for people. The more it gets used the more use it will actually be. Could be used for leaving family related information or suggestions... Just click on the 'Information' link to the left.

I've finally managed to get my act together in between being on holiday, causing injuries and catching up on work, to finish off the photo uploads and email setups for most of the family members. I have now raised by web space quota to 500 Mb in order to accommodate the extra pictures and to provide hosting for any family members should they need it.
There is still more work to be done to the site, like fixing the guestbook and various other small things which I will try to do ASAP.

It really has been a while since anything has been done to this site. Now I have changed my hosting WPP to a paid service so I'm hoping the service level will be somewhat better! I intend to finish getting this site up to where it was before which unfortunately means locating the backups so it might be a little while. For the time being this is pretty much the only part of the site that works, but it is something...
Due to popular demand I will also be including a Photos section which, funnily enough, will include photos of friends, family, etc. Until the site is properly updated, these can be found by following http://www.macdermott.net/photos (recently updated).

Just a quick post to explain that the message board system on this site will unfortunately be unavailable from 01/06/01 onwards because the site hosting it is shutting down. Just as soon as I have enough time I will find another alternative.

Dunno how many people are actually gonna read this, just thought that I'd mention the short family holiday we've all (well some of us) just had. I enjoyed myself and hope you all did too.
Just realised that Sarah MacDermott's site is offline. Personally I think this is a shame and everyone should send her email to that effect!

I know it's been a while but I thought I'd update the site. Sorry that I haven't had much time recently and I'm running out of ideas for what to actually add to this site. I am waiting on a text on the history of the family name which is going to be provided kindly by Local Ireland.
My own personal site has changed somewhat (now contains all my university coursework) if you're interested...
Site will soon be moving to higher spec servers so the IP address will change, but don't worry, the forwarding will still be done transparently so keep on hitting www.macdermott.net!

Finally added a proper message board system to the web site courtesy of SitePowerUP! This can now be accessed from the Information link in the contents panel. Please go ahead and post some messages, but do not use it as a Guestbook.
